Where movement

meets melody.

Musical Physical Therapy combines music and motion for a playful approach to physical therapy.

PHYSICAL THERAPY with a musical twist

Salena Jacob is a physical therapist, 200-hr certified yoga instructor, vocalist and musician, who uses all of her experience to provide an individualized therapeutic plan for her clients. She intentionally listens and observes, continuously collaborates with families throughout each plan of care, and incorporates cutting edge research findings in her sessions.

At Messy Happy Music Lab, Salena works with both children and adult caregivers to address pain, strength, endurance, and other physical limitations; to incorporate music and rhythm as motivators and modalities; and to cultivate independence and self-efficacy.

Musical Physical Therapy uses rhythm, melody, syncopation, and timbre to enhance body movements, pacing, and overall motivation. Each session is thoughtfully tailored to your child's unique needs, making progress feel less like work and more like play. Whether your child is working on strength, coordination, or motor skills, the integration of music creates an engaging experience.

Musical Physical Therapy is perfect for children who thrive in creative and dynamic environments. By using both physical therapy with musical elements, your child can connect with their bodies in new, rhythmic ways. This approach is ideal for children of all abilities, offering benefits that go beyond physical improvements to potentially support emotional regulation, communication, and social skills.

At the Lab, we’ve created a space that’s as fun and dynamic as your child, equipped with a variety of amenities to enhance their physical therapy experience.
